Gleneagles 1st Responders

Gleneagles Country Club will welcome more than 100 First Responders from Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue for the 10th Annual Emergency Services Appreciation Day on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

Gleneagles donates the entire day to honor the local emergency service workers who protect, serve, and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls in our community. The club invites all emergency services personnel who are members of a station that responds to calls in Gleneagles to participate in the event at no charge.

Gleneagles Director of Golf, Joe DeMino, and Rusty Lamm, Corporal for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are integral in bringing the tournament to Gleneagles each year. Two of Gleneagles members: Eric Sands, a retired Captain in FDNY who served in 9/11, and club President Steven Wolk assist in organizing the day by visiting the local first responder stations to distribute information about the event.

“It is truly an honor to organize this day for those who risk their lives to protect and serve our community every day. This is our way of thanking them,” says DeMino.

“The commitment of any emergency service worker to protect, honor and serve their community is a thankless job, however, we are honored to once again welcome our local stations for a great day of lunch and golf at Gleneagles.,” remarks Sands.
