Members & Staff donate to relief efforts
In the days that followed Hurricane Ian, the compassionate members of Gleneagles approached management with an interest in helping. The club reached out to various organizations and vendors that have been involved in hurricane relief in the past, and within days, identified an opportunity for our members to support the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce in a relief project with the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Chamber of Commerce.
Within 48 hours, Gleneagles members donated more than $7,000 to be used for much needed recovery supplies – tarps, contractor trash bags, work gloves, bug spray, and more. These donations will go a long way to ensure that families on the west coast of Florida are able to rebuild the lives as soon as possible.
“Whenever a tragedy strikes, whether it be a hurricane in Florida or an earthquake in Haiti, Gleneagles members always rise to the occasion of helping our neighbors,” says General Manager and COO Kraig Spina. “Our members are the most kind, generous, and thoughtful, people that anyone has the pleasure of knowing, and it is absolutely no surprise that our members showed up to support the victims of Hurricane Ian.”
On Saturday, October 29, our Membership Manager, Gloria Hosh, joined staff from several neighboring clubs to load donated hurricane relief supplies and furniture into semi trucks to send to impacted front line country club employees on the west coast of Florida. Gloria woke up early on her day off to join in the relief efforts organized by the local chapter of Club Management Association of America and said, “It was great to see the local country club community come together to support our peers on the west coast, and it was a blessing to get out there to help.”
